All Microsoft support for Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Small Business Server (SBS) 2011 will end on January 14, 2020. This means that security patches and updates will no longer be implemented, leaving Windows 7 workstations and servers using these operating systems vulnerable to security breaches.

Microsoft actually ended mainstream support for Windows 7 on January 13, 2015, but now the extended support is now coming to a close.

Under extended support, is still safe to use until 2020. It means that Microsoft will continue to patch any security threats but will not add any new features (as it would do during the ‘mainstream support’ phase). However, we strongly recommend upgrading workstations and servers before the January 2020 deadline- and to start thinking of upgrading now to avoid the rush of the deadline.

Updating an IT infrastructure is an involved task, and the deadline will be here before you know it.

Many clients have chosen to start the upgrade process now by taking advantage of KEE’s current offers for Windows 10 and Server 2019 upgrade options including some very exciting refresh programs that do not require capital expenditure and guarantee a full technology refresh every 3 or 5 years.

Not sure if your office is affected by this deadline? KEE can investigate your server for you and determine it its end of life date or if it will be affected by the 2020 end of support date and develop a no obligation technology refresh program tailored to your specific requirements.

If you have any questions or concerns about your office and the 2020 end of support date or want to find out more about our technology refresh options, please give us a call today: 01536 311 640,  contact us through the website or drop us an email to: value@keeservices.net
